Pirates!

We had a great start to last week reading 'Charlie Cook's Favourite Book'. His favourite book was about pirates, so we decided to make up some pirate stories of our own .....

Some children built a pirate ship outside and then dressed up and made up some adventures - Mr Wainwright, (who happened to be passing!) was made to walk the plank by some of the pirates!!!
He was last seen, looking a little worse for wear, heading off to his office for a lie down!!

Some children made up some amazing pirate stories using small world play scenes and figures, here is one of them:

Cameron, Ben, Finnley and Charlie made up this story playing with the small world pirate scene:
Long, long ago there were two pirate ships.
The captain of the good ship was called Captain Beard and the bad pirate captain was called Captain Jack Scarface.
There was some treasure on Sea Creature Island. There were poisonous crocodiles, a flying dragon, a poisonous shark and a poisonous jelly fish on the Island.
The two captains decided to have a race to see who could find the treasure first.
The pirates of the good ship climbed the rigging and saw Creature Island. The poisonous shark started swimming around the ship. The ship with bad pirates arrived. The poisonous jelly fish came, it stung the bad pirate ship. The poisonous crocodile ate all the bad pirates up!
The treasure chest was under the sea. The flying dragon swooped down, he bit a big rope with his teeth, then he tied the other end to the ship. The dragon dragged the ship along. The pirates dived down to look for the treasure. They found the enormous treasure chest and pulled it up using a big, heavy rope. The pirates used their muscles and the chest landed on the ship.
They opened the chest and inside were gold coins, gold bars, money, precious gems, and lots of other treasure. The pirates were rich and happy for the rest of their lives!
