Global Warming and Igloos!

We've had a fun first week back at school.

The children have found out about Global Warming and ways we can slow it down - they did some great writing on this. We read the story 'The Polar Bear's Home' and looked at a web site for children about Global Warming.

Then it was outside to build our igloo from recycled milk cartoons. It was a real team effort by children and class 1 adults. Our thanks also to some Year 6 children who helped to get it finished on wednesday!

We've also been very excited to observe the ducklings hatching and have looked at the life cycle of a duck and started making Duck Diaries!

So much fun in our first week! Enjoy the photos below .....

Watch out Strictly - Class 1 can Cha Cha Cha!!!

This week we have been perfecting our cha cha dancing, and we will post a little video clip for you as soon as we have sorted out a few technical difficulties.

In the meantime, have a look at what else we've been doing - we've been developing our fine motor skills through paper weaving, inspired by the wonderful woven textiles of South America.

Also, we had to share Evan's fantastic painting of a rainforest chameleon - what an artist!
