What a busy week for everyone!!

Well done class one on a lovely hard working week.
We have looked at fairy stories especially Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  Children have produced some lovely story maps and will be using them next week to start their own version of the story.

With Maths we have been adding again this week using the same method as last week to consolidate our learning.  We have also  been finding the correct amounts to match numbers.  Next week we are subtracting using the same bar method.

Thinking Things Through

The year ones have been doing addition also.  They have been learning to keep the larger number in their head and adding the smaller one.

In PE over the last couple of weeks we have been learning how to use the apparatus and learning to forward roll.

For ICT the children have been learning
This was a castle

This is a castle too

This was another castle

Looking forward to next week class one!!  Have a lovely weekend.

Phonics - If you were unable to attend the phonics meeting I held this week, but would like the hand out or even ideas for games to do with phonics to help your child's progress, then please just ask.

Parents - HOMEWORK - if you are wondering why  there are no Bug Club books just now for your children, I seem to be having a log on issue.  When that is sorted I will send out the books.  In the mean time please read their normal books and complete the phonic worksheets and this week's sounds.
to take their own pictures with a camera.  Here are some examples of  the girls' photos.

This Week

This week we are looking at traditional tales with both the year 1 and reception.  In reception the children have been talking about how stories start and end.  They have read The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Goldilocks to help them discuss this.
The year 1 children are reading What Made Tiddalik Laugh.  Today they worked on comprehension activities to do with the story.

Please note that reading books will be changed by the children on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Both books must have been read before changing please.

Lastly class one well done last week with all your hard work and all those house points collected...KEEP IT UP!!!
