What a week!!!
Well can I say Thank You Class 1 for all your help in making food this week, and can I also say a special Thank you to any parents that took time out from their busy lives to help us prepare for the Mad Hatters Tea Party!!
We used maths this week to learn about measuring and how to read scales and we looked at fractions with cakes. All the children made cakes, biscuits and sandwiches which helped them to understand practically about each mathematical area.
To end the term and our topic of Alice in Wonderland we held a Mad Hatters Tea Party. All the children had to design and make their own hat. The children all tried really hard to follow their design plan and the hats were all amazingly different.

Last Week
Last week and the week ahead.
Homework – Phonics worksheet, Bug Club reading (year 1)
reading books (reception) Active Learn maths (Year 1).
It was a very hot week but the children all worked hard they
learnt about Learnt about money and positional language. The children had to use money to pay for snack;
they had to count out the correct amount in pennies to help them understand how
many pennies are in 10p, 20p and 30p. They
also did practical work on positional language, they children started to learn
about full, ½ and ¼ turns.
The children have all nearly completed their hats for Friday’s
Mad Hatters Tea Party; they have followed their plan and decorated in their own
way.
If you are a parent that has been asked to help this week
with cooking, we will need your help in morning from 9.30am until 10.30am other
than Monday which will be in the afternoon 2.00pm until 3.00pm.
