The highlight was Mr Malcolm coming into school and showing us how to use an apple press to make delicious apple juice - it really was wonderful! The children were excellent at taking turns, listening carefully and remembering their good manners!
In maths we worked on recognising numbers up to 6 without counting, and partitioning a set of five or six objects in different ways and beginning to record these numbers as an addition sentence. We made the most amazing rangoli patterns with chalks (outside) and powder paints, glitter and sequins (inside). We enjoyed listening to different versions of the story of Rama and Sita.
We're also practising letter formation and applying our phonics when reading!
Enjoy some of the photos below. Also a message from Miss Stafford:
Dear Parents,
This term our theme
in Class 1 is celebrations. On Thursday
the 24th November, we will be having a themed party day to celebrate
Mickey Mouse’s birthday. As we are
celebrating his birthday, we would like children to dress up as Mickey or Minnie
Mouse. Please don’t feel you have to go
out and buy a costume, just use what you already have e.g red shorts/ trousers
and a black top for Mickey or a spotty dress for Minnie. Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask a
member of class 1 staff.
Miss Stafford
Very excited about Mickeys party next week. Been rustling up an outfit! Just checking whether they are coming into school already dressed up or in uniform?
