Hey Class 1,

What a week we have had!! It was lovely to go to the castle on Tuesday, thank you to those parents that came and helped. Here are some photos of the children at the castle.
We got to dress as Romans.

There were really big shields

There were different types of head wear to try

We dressed as a Roman army

The Roman army had lots to put on.

Building a round house activity,

Also this week we have been learning to estimate in maths and writing about our trip in Literacy.  The children have investigated how to make a round house by using clay and straws.  Next week they will be investigating what material will be best to make the wall of their house.

To let you know in class we are now celebrating Wonderful Writing (Literacy), Thinking Things Through (Maths), Reading & Phonics and then the children's Handwriting.  We will be sending different handwriting sheets home for you and your child to do together, this will help them with writing in class.  Some weeks you may receive different maths problems to complete together too.
This weeks gold cup winners which will be displayed on our 'look at us' display are
Wonderful Writing - Megan & Fraser
Thinking Things Through - Nina
Reading and Phonics - William
Handwriting - Joe

Have a lovely weekend and rest up for another busy week next week.

  1. Class one, you should feel very proud of yourselves. The Castle trip was a very long day, filled with lots of amazing and exciting things to see and do (quite a lot for little time travellers) yet you all did it with cheeky smiles and restraint where needed. I can only guess you all eat at least four Weetabix every morning to carry on the way you do! Top work troops.
